We are pleased to announce our new partnership with Sustainability for Housing, aimed at improving environmental, social, and governance reporting across the UK social housing sector.
This new collaboration will introduce a centralised portal for sustainability reporting, supported by our benchmarking and analytics capabilities, alongside an added layer of validation during the annual reporting cycle.
As the steward of the Sustainability Reporting Standard for Social Housing (SRS), SfH has played a pivotal role in helping the sector measure, report, and improve its ESG performance in a transparent, consistent, and comparable way. Since its inception in 2020, the SRS has been adopted by over 130 housing providers and funders, representing more than 2.3 million homes and the majority of the £130bn in debt facilities within the sector.
Our expertise in data analytics and benchmarking will empower housing providers to gain actionable insights, fostering transparency and driving sector-wide improvements. By integrating SfH’s ESG metrics into our established benchmarking system, we aim to support social landlords in meeting evolving standards while presenting clear and reliable data to stakeholders, from funders to residents.
Piers Williamson, Chair of SfH, said: “The SRS is the golden thread for ESG and sustainability reporting in social housing, driving greater accountability, strengthening its story to a whole range of stakeholders and preparing housing providers for a new era of financial and sustainability reporting. Robust data is integral to all of this – and partnering with Housemark allows us to tap into its well-established data analysis capabilities, bringing enhanced reporting and benchmarking capabilities to the SRS. This collaboration ensures that social housing providers can focus on demonstrating their sustainability impact, while we deliver the insight that investors need to make informed decisions.”
Andrew Jackson, Director of Partnerships at Housemark, added: “We’re excited to collaborate with Sustainability for Housing to advance the consistency and quality of ESG reporting in social housing. Housemark’s expertise in data collection and analysis will ensure that the metrics used to gauge sustainability are accurate and reliable, enabling providers to present a clear and comprehensive picture of their ESG credentials to investors.”
Through this partnership, we are proud to strengthen SfH’s offering to the sector, enhancing ESG benchmarking capabilities and supporting housing providers in their journey towards greater sustainability. This is a vital step in delivering the actionable insights and transparency needed to ensure the sector moves forward in a new era of ESG-focused reporting.
